Debt Collection – Department of Agriculture and Rural Development

Bids are hereby invited for the following: Establishment of a list of attorney’s firms for professional legal services in diverse fields of law for a period of thirty-six (36) months. Scope of work: The successful panel of attorneys, will be required to render legal services in addition to the scope of work explained above to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in the following specified areas: • To provide legal opinions / legal advice on matters that may have legal implications for the Department; • To represent the Department in litigation proceedings; • To represent the Department in disciplinary proceedings and Labour matters; • To vet various contracts and agreements that the Department enters, with other stakeholders; • To draft contractual obligations with stakeholders and or collaboration agreements; • Provision of debt collection services; • Assist with arbitration and mediation proceedings or alternative dispute resolutions; • Assist in the execution of Eviction orders, Writ of Execution or Court Interdicts; • Assist in the auction and disposal of Departmental assets; • Legislative interpretation; • Any other Legal or litigation services as may be instructed by the Department; • Training and Skills Transfer should lay a foundation for a uniform approach in dealing with legal corporate governance and its legal oversight role of the executive, over its public entities and isolate areas that require attention for proper legal accountability and or legal improvement in the Department; • The Department will use opinions, advice, recommendations, and guidance from the firm of Attorneys as experts to inform any potential legal policy, current legal position or any legal guidance or guidelines for decision making procedures in the Department.
